… Well, I’ve known about it for a few weeks now, but I didn’t post anything until my lawyer gave me the green light.
So, the Mountain Man movie slated to enter production later this year will not happen. I’m not entirely sure what I can say here, what the protocol is for something like this, so I’ll just be brief… at one point all systems were green lit, and everything was moving forward. We were all excited. Then, at the eleventh hour, it all got shut down.
Can’t say any more than that, not even sure if I should be saying anything at all, so forgive me if I don’t answer questions regarding the matter. I do hope that, if Joe and Nick take an interest in any of my other stories, well… who knows…
The Hollywood machine is an unpredictable one, to say the least. Nothing is ever guaranteed. Not until that one guy claps that card thingy and the director shouts action!
So that’s the bad news…
Stay tuned, however… for hopefully, some good news….

This is terribly disappointing, I’m sorry. I was more excited than I should admit. Thank you for telling us. I’d been checking here occasionally for updates.
It’ll make a great movie… someday!
Mr. Blackmore, sorry to see this news. But keep your chin up. I’ve immensely enjoyed your Mountain Man and 131 Days series (and can’t wait for the next book in the latter). You’ve the head and hand for this line of work–please take heart and keep it up!

I will second this, thoroughly enjoyed the Mountain Man series but I’m excitedly awaiting continuation of the 131 days series! In the interim, I’ve caught up on your earlier works, you are by far one of my favorite authors.
Thank you Bruce, and I’m posting an update re:131 Days today…
such a bummer. was really looking forward to this
I can’t say, “I am surprised.” To be honest, if anyone bothered to read your books let alone listen to them I know for a fact you would have been on Netflix by now. God willing, the future is still unknown and let’s hope more opportunities come your way. You’re an excellent author and your work is phenomenal. Best of wishes
There are opportunities in the pipe… just waiting to see if and when I can talk about them…. stay tuned….
Of course. They put out unoriginal crap and then shut down the good stuff.
Seems supremely unfair. Gotta say it doesn’t take away from how much I’ve enjoyed this series. Itching for more Gus and company. Being a Maritimer, it hooked me even more.
If you had any decision in RC Bray reading these, bravo.
Nope, no decision in RC narrating… the publishers chose him back when he was an up-and-comer (?), regardless, they made the offer to him, and I’m thankful to them and him for taking on the project…
