I am beyond thrilled with this news! I have listened to the entire Mountain Man collection several times and I keep coming back for more. The possibility of seeing this story come to life, well, I have no words. Congratulations Mr. Blackmore! Can’t wait.
This is insanely cool. And Joe casting – brilliant. He’s a bit more of a handsome representation than Gus, but maybe once he begins the mountain man journey he won’t look so good!? 🙂
Must be exciting to get involved and hopefully have a solid hand in leading the production, good luck Keith.
I have faith in the make-up department to make Joe more like Augustus, so we’ll see :). Re: production–I’m totally hands off. I’d be more of a hindrance than a help, but I’ve let the powers that are that there is a built in audience waiting/looking for a quality adaptation… so, we’ll see….
I can’t wait to see tenner get whats coming to him as well as the leather on screen. Honestly so glad i just found the series a few months ago! A bit off topic, but have you thought about continuing the series? Perhaps something involving shovel making a reappearance. At any rate i’m left craving more and can’t wait to jump into 131 days!
I have an idea for the return of Gus… but I’m reluctant to bring him back just because he’s in a good place right now. I like him being retired. However, if sales plummet and I’m faced with getting a part time job, then I’ll be *less* reluctant to write it….
Amazing news! Congratulations getting to this point. Can’t wait. In my head I always pictured Tyler Labine as Gus, but Joe is pretty awesome, although he was actually who I pictured as Shovel!
Ahhh this is amazing!! Keith, I fell in love with this series and your writing style. It took me a little over a month to read the entire series (including prequels) and I can’t say how much I actually miss the characters. Having this to look forward to is so freaking awesome!
3 books into the mountain man series after discovering it on audiable, just started book 4. News of it becoming a TV show is great news, like I was ment to find the books and consume them before the TV show is aired.
I really hope this adaptation will come to fruition, you deserve so much more recognition for your wrtiting style that paints such a vivid picture. I’ve been meaning to read your other works but I’ve must’ve read Mountain Man and The Majestic 311 dozens of times, they are that good. Much love, I look forward to this project and hope we all can watch Gus scratch his nuts on the big screen.

Thank you Howard :), I think Joe will do a great job….
I am excited to see who they cast for Tenner. I have always pictured Richard Brake, mainly because he scares the shit out of me haha.

This is amazing!! I can really see Joe playing him! I have listened to every book in the series and cant wait to see it on the screen, congrats!
you should use Eddie Noack’s (house on a mountain) for the end credits always thought that song fit the book well.
