After a long day of prepping a house for painting, all Gus Berry wanted was the night off, to spend some time with his girlfriend, and relax before having to return to work the next morning.

But that isn’t going to happen.

Because Gus’s co-worker Benny has found a one-night job at the local Mollymart East, a job that has to be done by morning. If Gus and his paint crew can complete the work by then, it could mean huge business with a respected, established grocery store chain.

But as Gus and his fellow painters soon discover, the much-anticipated zombie apocalypse doesn’t start with a bang. It starts on a Monday.

And barricading themselves inside a megastore isn’t the end.

It’s just the beginning.

  1. Thank you so much for Mountain Man: Prequel! You’ve made my weekend! I thought after Well Fed there wouldn’t be another book from the Mountain Man universe. I can’t wait to read this one! Take care and thank you so very much for sharing your stories.

    Sincerely,
    Dave

      1. Hi Keith,

        Your book are great,

I am looking for Mountain Man HB 1st edtion signed copy of your Book?

        can’t find any

        Regards

        Paul Bollands

        1. Hi Paul–No, sorry, I don’t have anything in hard covers, or any signed copies, for that matter. Just ebook, paperback, and audio. As for audio, “Mountain Man: Prequel” goes into recording around January, 2018 and should be on sale a few months later (I don’t handle the audio side of things so it’s hard for me to say when it’ll be on sale.) Just keep an eye on the website here or FB for announcements. As for future releases, all titles are in discussion to be done in audiobook form, it’s just a question of when. Again, keep an eye out for announcements. And thanks for reading and listening!

          1. Thanks for the reply Keith, if you ever do a hard covers, signed copies.
let know and ill buy a copy. i cant belive you have had such a hard time getting published. Mountain man books are great and breeds trilogy as well.

            All the best

            Paul

          2. Hi Keith,

I am just reading Breeds book 3, great books series, you have done zombies, werewolfs, any plans on a vampire series of books?

            Regards

            Paul

          3. No sorry, no vampire books planned at the moment. That could change, however, if the right idea comes along…

          4. Breeds book 2, Kirk is reading Salem’s lot,
just thought that perhaps you had something in mind.
based on Mountain man and Breeds, i think you’d tell a really great story,
with a completely different take on the vampire genre, and make scary.

So what is coming up next in horror line of books ?

          5. Hi Keith,

Audio books. “Mountain Man: Prequel” Ill get this in 2018,
Myself and my brother inlaw are Stephen King – So Joe Hill fans.
he’s just started on Mountain man and said its a great Books.
(sold movie rights) will there be a movie out at some point.

            Paul

          6. Glad you guys are enjoying the reads. Sorry, though, can’t say if or when a movie will ever come of it. Hollywood is a different beast entirely. And sorry again, no horror books slated for 2018–I’m trying to focus on finishing the “131 Days” series, which I’ve let go for too long now.

But once those books are done, I’ll consider doing another horror book…

          7. Thanks very or much for your replys Keith,
its very kind of you to take the time answer.

I am just looking at your other work. hopefully will be on audio next year.
The Missing Boatman, 131 Days. & The Troll Hunter all sound interesting,

            Regards

            Paul

  3. I’m currently on my third listen through of the MM omnibus and well fed and I just found out the other day this was coming, I’m very excited to listen to this before my 4th listen through

  4. Keith, your books are amazing!
I’m hooked and I’m sorry, but I won’t let go.

Thank you so much for offering your talent to the masses who DON’T drag our legs, attempt to synchronize our gangly, hanging arms with our heads hanging cock-eyed while making guttural noises.

I love your story lines. I’ve even got my husband hooked!!

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

      1. I’ve got to say that the mountain man series is one of my all time favorites, I just found out about the prequel today and although I don’t get much time for actual reading, what with work and family, I love listening to the audiobooks while working. Really, really looking forward to the release of the prequel on audio.

  5. Hi Mr Blackmore! I just discovered these books last year and even though there wasnt success in the past in getting a series going, with the Prequel and final book after omnibus, I think Netflix would be foolish to turn this down. Can’t go with network TV bc I think you would have to compromise too much. Hulu or HBO or something would be better. Also for Gus, I think that the guys Chris Sullivan from the first season of StrangerThings who owned the diner should place him. I think he would be be great casting. Or even the guy who bn plays the sheriff but this might be a casting conflict. You have a Gem here with the story line and Zombies in the snow???? Never been done. Keep pushing!!!!!

    1. Thanks for the note, Nicole. Appreciated. And Chris Sullivan has been mentioned before. I looked him up on IMDB and, honestly, he would be a great choice for Gus—except he’s a little too tall for him. Now, he could also play the role of Scott….

  6. I love your stories! I have been hooked since the first available book. You are truly exceptional.

    Thank you!!!

    Marcella
